Solanke Adopts Philosophical Approach To Recurring Injury Blight

Tottenham Hotspur of England striker, Dominic Solanke has opted for a philosophical approach in his response to his ongoing battle with a nagging injury.

Sports247 reports that, although the Nigerian-born former Liverpool and Chelsea attacker admitted the injury has lasted longer than had previously been diagnosed, he is not allowing it to weigh him down emotionally.

Rather than feel the pressure of his long absence from action for the London-based English Premier League club, Solanke insists he will soon bounce back better than ever.

This is in contrast with worry that is already spreading through Tottenham Stadium, as Solanke has been sidelined since August due to an ankle problem that required surgery in October.

In a bid to boost his self-confidence, Solanke shared a photograph of himself on Instagram, accompanied by two hourglass emojis, with the caption: ‘Positivity through the dark times.’

The post, though, came a few days after Solanke confessed in an interview with The Athletic that his injury ordeal has been a ‘very difficult’ setback for him to stomach and work hard to overcome.

Solanke said: “At first, I didn’t think I would be out for too long, but we didn’t really understand the extent of the injury.

“I was trying to get back as quickly as I could, but it didn’t happen, so I had to have surgery. Since then, I have been working to get back.

“I’m not putting a timeline on. I’m taking it day by day but, hopefully, I won’t be out much longer.”
