Sports247 reports that, while ‘KSI’ was floored in a physical clash with one of the opposing players, 37-year-old Costa came out with shining colours, as he struck a long-distance goal during the game.
Costa, who is yet to officially announce his retirement, despite being without a club since 2024, opened scoring in the star-studded ‘Match for Hope’ that also featured Thierry Henry, Eden Hazard, Franck Ribery and Gerard Pique.
They were joined in the game at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium by Real Madrid legend, Marcelo and many influencers, including ‘I’m A Celebrity’ winner, Angry Ginge playing alongside them in ‘Team Chunkz.’
Their squad, which was guided by former Arsenal of England coach, Arsene Wenger, played against ‘Team Aboflah,’ which had Henry, Tim Cahill, Ribery and Pique, with Roberto Di Matteo as their gaffer.
A report by UK’s Daily Mail revealed further, “The light-hearted charity match not only provided its viewers with a glut of goals, but with hilarity too as social media star, Bilal Fadili launched a wrestling move on KSI.
“The rapper and Britain’s Got Talent judge had just knocked the ball beyond Fadili, when the influencer jumped on him, hoisted himself up onto his shoulders and sent him flying with a twist reminiscent of WWE’s Rey Mysterio.
“The referee, however, decided to play on and the ball fell into the hands of Costa just moments later, whose long-range shot took YouTuber David Vujanic by surprise and hit the back of the net.”
