Sky Limit FC Expelled from 2025 NLO Season Following Assault on Match Officials

The Nationwide League One (NLO) Secretariat has taken decisive action against Sky Limit FC of Kano, expelling the club from the ongoing 2025 league season. As seen on the NLO official social media page, this decision follows a violent incident during a match against Dromeda FC, where match officials were assaulted by Sky Limit FC’s technical bench and players.

In accordance with Article 4.13(6) of the NLO rules, which stipulates that any club involved in hooliganism shall face a three-match ban for a first offence and expulsion for a second, the Secretariat has enforced the maximum penalty. As a result, Sky Limit FC will no longer participate in the current league, and all previously earned points have been deducted, effectively removing the team from the league standings.

This incident shows the NLO’s commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring the safety of match officials and participants. The league has consistently demonstrated a zero-tolerance policy towards violence and misconduct, as seen in previous actions against clubs like Campos FC and Ogbomosho United for similar offences.

The NLO Secretariat reiterates its dedication to upholding the integrity of the league and calls on all clubs to adhere strictly to the established rules and regulations. Clubs are reminded that any form of violence or misconduct will attract severe sanctions, including fines, suspensions, and possible expulsion from the league.

Sky Limit FC retains the right to appeal this decision through the appropriate channels within the stipulated time frame.
