Six Teams Signs Up For Inaugural Ika Youth League

With Sporting Activities set to return after nearly 6 months of lockdown due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Six teams have signed up for the Inaugural Edition of the IKA Youth League in Agbor Delta State.

The League Committee comprised of Coaches and Managers of the respective clubs rose from a meeting held at Otas Hotel Alihame, Agbor Delta State on Sunday August 16 2020 to adopt the League format which will be played on Home and Away Format.

The League is being Organized by the Sports Development and Empowerment Initiative (SDEI) and Supported by Irish Based Web Solution providers SportsID.ng.

Dr. Ken Gadaffi, a BOT Member of the SDEI and CEO of KG Sports Foundation presided over the meeting with Coaches and Managers from Ihuyase FC, Unity Stars FC, Arewa United FC, Golden Boys FC Big Daddy FC and KG Sports Academy all in attendance.

“We decided to limit the number to 6 clubs because of the time factor and in line with the Covid 19 Protocols. Hopefully next year we can I’ll be able to extend the league to other Teams outside of Agbor” said the Organizing Secretary Coach Mathew Alumona.

” We are happy to support this initiative, it’s part of SDEI long time objectives to develop grassroots football and we hope young talented players can be discovered through such local leagues” Dr Ken Gadaffi enthused.

The league is expected to kick off on 2nd September with all 6 Teams using their respective home ground.
