Simon Creates Chances as Paris FC Held by Lyon in Late Drama

Nigerian winger Moses Simon delivered an impressive attacking display for Paris FC but could not prevent his side from settling for a 1–1 draw against Olympique Lyonnais in a closely contested league encounter.

Simon was one of the standout performers for Paris FC, creating three clear goalscoring opportunities and constantly threatening the Lyon defence with his pace and creativity on the flanks.

After a goalless first half, Paris FC broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute. Marshall Munetsi reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the penalty area and fired a right-footed effort into the net.

Although the situation initially sparked confusion, the referee reviewed the incident before confirming the goal, giving the visitors a deserved lead.

Paris FC looked set to hold on for all three points, but the match took a dramatic turn late in the game. Lyon were awarded a penalty after Alimami Gory was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the penalty area. Despite strong protests from the Paris FC forward, the referee stood by the decision.

In stoppage time, Corentin Tolisso stepped up to take the spot kick and calmly converted with a right-footed strike in the 90+7th minute. Kevin Trapp came close to saving the penalty but could not keep the ball out as Lyon snatched a dramatic late equaliser.

The result meant both sides had to settle for a share of the points after an intense contest.

Despite the late setback, Simon’s performance was a bright spot for Paris FC. His creativity and attacking influence played a key role in the team’s offensive play, underlining his importance to the squad as they continue their campaign.
