Remo Stars of Ikenne striker, Sikiru Alimi has disclosed that he and his colleagues in the home-based national team are eagerly looking forward to playing at this year’s Championship of African Nations (CHAN 2025), Sports247 reports.
With the competition, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, set to kick-off on August 2nd, Alimi declared that all players in the Home-based Eagles can’t wait to enter the fray.

Sikiru Alimi pointed out that they were already in the mood to tango Senegal, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan in Group F, only for the competition to be postponed unexpectedly by Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Alimi, though, assured that the postponement has not in any way doused the enthusiasm of all players in the Eagles’ B-squad, and they are still hoping to get a glorious outing when the contest finally commences after next month.
“We were really disappointed about the postponement of CHAN. It was really heartbreaking for most of us, because we were really set for the tournament. We prepared for it, and we were looking forward to it.
“Unfortunately, CAF said, ‘No, it won’t happen.’ All the same, we are still looking forward to the tournament,” disclosed Alimi, who was in the main Eagles’ squad that won the recent Unity Cup in London and then played 1-1 in a friendly away to Russia
