Her exceptional contributions throughout the season did not go unnoticed, as she was named the Female Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season.

In an emotional chat with Sports247, Gbemi reflected on the recognition and the dedication that brought her to this moment.

“I’m so emotional. I’m so happy. I’m grateful to God for this award,” she said. “I know I’ve put in so much hard work, but there are also a lot of great players out there. This means a lot to me because I know I earned it.

That was my goal from the beginning of the season—to be the best center in the league. That was the plan.”

Gbemi also shared a bit of her journey into the sport, revealing that she initially came from a basketball background.

“I play basketball too. It was someone from basketball who introduced me to flag football, and I’ve been a part of it ever since. It’s been great, even though I still play basketball as well.”

After four years of dedication and development in the sport, Gbemi’s commitment has finally paid off with the ultimate individual accolade. Her story is not just one of talent, but of relentless effort and vision—a true inspiration in the world of flag football.
