Shola Shoretire Sets UEFA Youth League Record

<3h>Manchester United youngster, Shola Shoretire on Wednesday set a new record as the youngest player to feature in the UEFA Youth Champions League since its inception.

Sports247.ng can report that Shoretire set the record aged 14 years, 10 months, 10 days, on a day Nicky Butt’s Red Devils’ youth side finished as Group H winners with 16 points.

Shoretire made history in his competitive debut for Man United’s under-19 squad in their 2-1 win against Valencia at Estadio Antonio Puchades on Wednesday afternoon.

He took his place in the UEFA log off the bench in the 75th minute as a replacement for Switzerland under-19 international, Nishan Burkart.

The previous record was held by former Anderlecht goalkeeper, Mile Svilar, who featured against Galatasaray aged 15 years and 20 days.
