Seven Katsina Football Academy Players Set for IBER Cup in Portugal

Seven promising talents from Katsina Football Academy in Katsina State are set to participate in the prestigious IBER Cup Estoril in Estoril, Lisbon, Portugal, in what promises to be a major exposure opportunity for the young Nigerian prospects.

The players will feature under Lagos-based Moonluck Football Academy following a collaborative partnership between the two academies.

Moonluck FA returns to the global youth tournament as defending champions after an impressive triumph in the previous edition and will be aiming to successfully defend their title this year.

The Katsina Football Academy players selected for the tournament include Manir Abdullahi, Ibrahim Abdul, Muhammad Mukhtar, Muhammad Hussaini, Isah Usman, Nura S. Nura, and Ali, all of whom will be looking to make a strong impression on the international stage.

Their participation represents a significant milestone for the young players, providing them with the chance to test their abilities against top youth academies from around the world while gaining valuable international experience.

The IBER Cup is widely regarded as one of the leading youth football tournaments globally, attracting renowned academies from Europe and beyond.

This year’s competition is expected to feature teams affiliated with major clubs such as Manchester City, SL Benfica, AS Roma, Blackburn Rovers, FC Porto, and Juventus, alongside several other elite youth setups across Europe.
