Undefeated Nigerian boxer, Tunde Segun Adeyemi, will take a significant step in his professional career as he squares off against Russia’s Idris Adalaev for the vacant WBA Asia Super-Lightweight title on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Moscow, Russia.
The highly anticipated 140-pound clash will see Adeyemi (12-0-1, 8 KOs) put his unbeaten record on the line against the dangerous Adalaev (8-1-0, 4 KOs) in what promises to be a compelling bout for the regional title.
The fight is scheduled to headline a card promoted by Shamo Boxing Promotions.
According to sources close to Adeyemi’s camp, the Nigerian and his team have already arrived in Moscow and have completed pre-fight obligations, including the official weigh-in and medical checks.
The winner of the bout is expected to make a strong push up the WBA world rankings, with the Asia title serving as a recognized stepping stone to global contention.
This will be Adeyemi’s first fight outside Nigeria, marking a critical milestone in his journey toward international recognition.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise since making his professional debut in 2021, earning a reputation for his power punching and composed ring presence.
Adalaev, the home favourite, is equally determined to claim the vacant belt and reassert himself after suffering the only defeat of his career in 2023.
The WBA Asia Super-Lightweight title has served as a launchpad for many Asian and African fighters aiming to break into the elite ranks of the division, and Wednesday’s bout could define the next phase of both boxers’ careers.
