Scrabble Federation Boss Toke Aka Counts On Young Talents To Reclaim Global Title For Nigeria

Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) president, Engineer Toke Aka has disclosed that all stakeholders in the game of words are looking up to their newly emerging talents to bring a global title back to the country.

Sports247 reports that Engineer Aka was quite delighted seeing many of Nigeria’s young players excel at the recent Pan African Youth Scrabble Championship in Kenya.

While also pointing at the discovery of many youngsters at the equally recent National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta, Aka promised that a rich database will soon be opened to collate details of all the emerging future stars.

Aka expatiated, “It’s not magic. It’s determination and dint of hard work. The National Youth Games was a precursor to us feeding Nigeria’s young scrabble team with players.

“Currently, as the season is going on now, we are already discovering some new players. These players, who have gone to represent Nigeria internationally, were all products of the National Youth Games.”

Aka went on to reveal the roles being played by some states across rhe nation in supporting the federation’s resolve to focus fully on the production of new talents, then predicted that all their efforts across the country will soon bring global glory home.

“Most of the young players were brought by the different state associations to play in the competition. From there, we saw the talents, and we brought them to the centre.

“We then start to hone their skills and expose them further. We have not been wrong in that aspect. I am sure that once we continue along that line, one year is enough for us to bring the world championship title back to Nigeria,” Aka enthused
