Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is set to be the chief host at a special send-forth dinner organized by the Lagos State Government for the Super Eagles on Tuesday night.
The event, co-hosted by Sports Development Minister Senator John Owan Enoh, aims to honour the three-time champions before they depart for the 34th Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cote d’Ivoire.

Governor Sanwo-Olu will be joined by Governors Douye Diri (Bayelsa State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State), and Godwin Obaseki (Edo State) at the special dinner.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, is the host.
The guest list includes top officials of the Lagos State Government, parliamentarians, NFF Executive Committee members, representatives of NFF’s corporate partners and sponsors, some members of NFF Management, Chairman and Board of the Lagos State Football Association, football investor Hon. Kunle Soname, former Nigeria captain Dr Olusegun Odegbami, leading artistes, top celebrities, and influencers.
The event is anchored on the theme “Let’s Do It Again,” aimed at motivating the Super Eagles as they aim for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title in Cote d’Ivoire.
“The NFF and the Nigeria Football fraternity are grateful to Governor Sanwo-Olu and his administration for agreeing to host the team at the Send Forth ceremony. It is an occasion to tell the players how much Nigerians will be supporting them at the Africa Cup of Nations Championship.”
The Nigeria contingent is scheduled to depart Lagos on Wednesday morning for Abidjan, where the team will compete in Group A against host nations Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau. Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa will lead the delegation.
The send-forth dinner is anticipated to boost the morale of the Super Eagles as they embark on their quest for continental glory in Cote d’Ivoire.
