Samuel Kalu’s Goal Against Le Havre Goes Viral

Rave reviews are trailing a wonder goal scored by Girondins-Bodeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu in the Coupe de la Ligue, as the effort has gone viral in various social network platforms.

Although the goal was enacted on Wednesday, as Kalu helped his side to a stunning win against Le Havre, sports247.ng gathered that it is still creating several talking points, due to its sheer brilliance.

In what was akin to a similar strike from outside the box by Kalu in his second match for the Super Eagles, against Libya in Port Harcourt, the youngster sent tongues wagging by curling home against Le Havre.

Kalu scored the only goal in the 70th minute with a rising shot into the far corner which caught the opposing defence and goalkeeper off guard.

After a disappointing first half where he received a yellow card, Kalu was put through on goal by Jimmy Briand to score the only goal of the game.

Bordeaux defended the goal, as they booked a place in the next round of the competition, but it was Kalu who stole post-match comments on the internet, TV, radio, newspapers and beyond.

One of the posts on Twitter read: “Samuel Kalu’s goal for Bordeaux in the Coupe de la Ligue last night is quite a beauty to watch. Amazing curler.”
