A young striker from Akwa Ibom State, Samuel Achibong has disclosed that he is already thinking of how to create waves this season in the third-tier Nationwide League One (NLO).
Sports247 gathered that, although dates are yet to be declared officially for the NLO’s next campaign, Achibong is already planning towards what he believes will be a fruitful season for him and his team, Seamoriow FC of Ikotun, Lagos.
The youngster, who is fondly called ‘Alvarez,’ has set his plans in motion with personal training sessions before the official resumption of full training by the squad, as he believes the time to rest has not yet come.
‘Alvarez’ also reflected on his recent exploits with his club’s junior team, which he helped win the 5th Seamoriow U15 League Championship, having emerged as second highest goal scorers in the prestigious competition organised by his club’s proprietor.
“I am happy that I was able to do well in the under-15 competition, and I even scored a hat-trick in the final. I thank my teammates for making it possible.
“That one has now gone and I’m already thinking of the NLO. I’m already training towards it because I want to do well and I want my team to win the league.
“We trained on Monday, but we are yet to start full training. I am using the opportunity that I have being in camp fully with some of the other players from outside Lagos,” Achibong disclosed.
Sports247 gathered further that the product of Blessed Stars FC of Akwa Ibom State has been keeping fit by joining the under-10 team of Seamoriow Football Academy in training ahead of full resumption for the league squad.
