Salvos Tackle Papis In Salvation Army Founders Day Football Match In Lagos

The 2023 Lagos City Divisional Founders Day Anniversary Celebrations which comes up on Saturday 1st – 2nd July is leaving up to its billing with the theme of “Doing It Differently” as the Youths of The Salvation Army Lagos City Divisional Football Team are locking horns with the Catholic Youth Football Team on Saturday 1st July at St Finbass Collage Akoka Lagos from 10am – 2pm.

The invitational Novelty Football Match which will kick off the celebration of The Salvation Army’s 158th Founders Day Anniversary in Lagos City Division, will be followed on the same Saturday in the evening with a wine & dine Fundraising Dinner and Awards ceremony at Divisional Headquarters in Surulere Corps from 4pm with the Red Carpet.

The Dinner will feature classical Dinner musical renditions from The Salvation Army Brass Cantata Band and Special Guest Artist with a touch of international cuisines served in a cosy Dinner ambiance.

We will be privileged to have as our Special Guest Speaker, the recently awarded Noble Prize Winner who is one of ours CSM (Engr) Nosa Omorodion of the “Mother Corps” to speak on the topic “Doing It Differently” in our Army!

The heavily packed Dinner program will be Co-Chaired by another high profile first class Salvationist and the Army’s Territorial Legal Advicer and and Business Mogul Envoy (Barr) CSM Uche Iwuamadi. The occasion promises to be an explosive encounter for the upcoming business minded Youths / Paticipants who will be given the opportunity of interactions with questions and advice from these top class business entreprenures of reput in our Army who have proven themselves in the Nigerian and world business cycles respectibely.

The Fundraising Dinner is meant to help the Lagos City Division to raise funds towards its Mission Support for Church Planting & Humanitarian Services with new Outpost in the Lagos City Division which is popularly tagged “The Center of Excellence”

It is therefore no surprise as we are witnessing these innovations from the Planning Committee led by its Chairman, the ever vibrant charismatic and hard working CSM Ntiense Williams.

This Founders Day celebrations will be the last one to be organised within the stewardship of the Commnad Leaders, Majors Micheal & Comfort Sijuade who will be retiring from active Service as Officers of The Salvation Army early next year. The Command Leaders will also use this auspicious occasion to appreciate distinguished individuals who have at one time or the other being of emenced help to the work of God during their tenure with an Award Ceremony during the Dinner night.

The Main Celebrations will come up on Sunday 2nd July as The Salvation Army will roll out the drums with a 158 Man Team comprising of Bandmens, Songster, Timbrelist, YP Singing Company Members, alongside the host Salvation Army active and retired Officers, Soldiers, Adherants and Friends of the international humanitarian and religious organisation in a “March of Witness” after the Match Pass and Colour Sergeant Competitions to be competed for by all the 23 Corps, Societies and Outpost in the Lagos City Division.

A foreign Officer from Kenya who are now serving in Nigeria Territorial Headquarters as the Assistant Programs Secretary, Majors Johnathan & Alice Barasa are the Special Guest Speakers who will minister God’s message being re-echored by the Founder William.Booth and the Army Mother Catherine Booth respectively which has now spread across the world in 133 Countries and still counting.
