Sadeeq Yusuf has been named the winner of Sunshine Stars’ newly introduced Player of the Month (POTM) Award.
The POTM alongside Goal of the Month (GOTM) honour is aimed at recognising and celebrating the Club’s outstanding contributors throughout the season.
Yusuf registered unrivalled five goals in the reviewed period (January 2021) to notch up the award ahead of Fuad Ekelojuoti, Seun Olulayo and David Ariyo.
The POTM is voted for by Sports Journalists domiciled in Ondo state while the GOTM winner will be determined by votes from fans and followers of Sunshine Stars across social media platforms; FB, IG & Twitter: @SunshineFCAkure.
Yusuf also has two entries in the GOTM nominations; his goal on MD7 against Rangers and the goal that proved the winner against Dakkada on MD6 is up against Omo Jesu Ogunniyi’s strike in a MD2 meeting with FC Ifeanyiubah and Chinedu Udechukwu’s free kick vs. Rangers on MD7.
Yusuf will officially be bestowed the POTM award before the kick off of Sunshine Stars’ MD9 game with Kwara United on Sunday, while the goal of the month winner will be announced at 8pm today (Saturday).
