Rwanda’s Coach Adel Amrouche Confesses: We Don’t Have Top Quality Like Before

The Super Eagles have received a major boost ahead of next weekend’s FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, as the visitors’ coach, Adel Amrouche has admitted that his side no longer have the top quality they used to and he also disclosed that they are facing preparation constraints.

Sports247 reports that the Eagles have to defeat Amavubi of Rwanda in Uyo on September 6th to get their 2026 World Cup qualification back on track, and Amrouche appears to have thrown in the towel already.

So much might be inferred after the Algerian tactician further admitted that he does not have enough time to prepare his squad for their battle in The Nest of Champions.

The former Botswana, Burundi, Libya, Yemen, Tanzania and Kenya handler retorted, “We don’t have that quality like before. Also, the short time to prepare with the team is not working. That’s the reality. We don’t have a lot of time, and it’s not working, but we hope to find some time to prepare for this game.”

Although Amrouche admitted that the task ahead of him is tough, he parried suggestions that Rwanda would not put up a fight in Uyo, pointing out instead that they will do everything possible to overcome the obstacles that are staring them in the face.

Amrouche rounded off by saying, “We will stay positive, and we must tell them to work more and more, with more determination.
“But we know it’s not easy in football if you do not prepare yourself, and it’s not possible to get a good result. It’s not possible.”
