Former Super Eagles’ captain, John Mikel Obi has come out with a startling declaration that Portuguese tactician, Ruben Amorim is waiting to be sacked from his gaffer’s post at Manchester United of England.
Sports247 reports that Mikel cast a look at recent games that the former Braga of France and Sporting Lisbon of Portugal gaffer was on the sidelines for ‘Man U,’ especially the last one away to Brentford, and concluded that The Red Devils’ job no longer excites Amorim.

Mikel argued via his online podcast, “I just watch him, and I think his body language looks like he wants out. It’s like he’s thrown in the towel, and he’s done.
“At some point, he can’t even watch his players perform on the pitch. He’s given up, and he wants out. He simply wants to leave.”
Mikel submitted by pointing out that Amorim would even be happy if he is sacked at this point in time, as the 40-year-old coach has given up the task of trying to get United back on the track of glory they had in the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
“He wants to be sacked, because the problem is way too much for him to deal with. He can’t fix Manchester United’s problem.
“Ruben Amorim cannot fix the problems of Man United. It’s impossible; and that’s why he’s thrown in the towel (without saying it).
“His body language is dull, he shakes his head, and the players can see that the manager does not believe in anything they are doing,” Mikel speculated.
The former Chelsea of England midfield enforcer, who also featured for two erstwhile English Premier League sides – Stoke City and Middlesbrough – before a short spell at Trabzonspor of Turkey in the twilight of his career, hinted that Amorim’s end at Old Trafford is at hand.
Sports247 noted that Amorim will again be under pressure this Saturday, when his 14th placed side host Sunderland, who are surprisingly sixth on the log and look likely to give their once glamorous hosts a fourth defeat of the season.
