Rotary Club Takes Trees Planting To Obafemi Awolowo Way

In a bid to contribute its quota to Rotary International’s effort to preserve and sustain planet earth, Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa undertook a tree planting exercise on Sunday 30th of August 2020.

 

 

This year 2020, the President of Rotary International, Holger Knaack, underscored the need for preservation and sustenance of planet earth through the symbolic planting of at least one tree by each Rotarian.

The Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa (provisional) District 9110 commemorated the Rotary International new and 7th area of focus, Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa carried out her Tree Planting exercise today at Obafemi Awolowo way by new Alade market Allen Avenue, Ikeja.

The club chose the location being a cynosure of the state capital; in order to support the Lagos state government initiative, which encourages and supports tree planting.

This amazing event was attended by the Rotary District 9110 Chairman for TREE planting, in the person of Past President Jelili Efedi.

PP. Jelili Efedi, upon his arrival at the venue, was received and led by the president of Rotary Club of the club, Prince Aseperi Adeyemi, his board members and members to the location where the tree planting exercise was carried out.

 

PP. Jelili Efedi saluted the giant stride of the club being a provisional club. He commended the good attendance, the location of the project, and admonished the club to sustain the planted trees.

Speaking at the event, president of the club, Prince Aseperi Adeyemi, said the maintenance and beautification of the Obafemi Awolowo way would help the community’s ecosystem and reduce the effect of climate change.
