Robo Queens Boss Emmanuel Osahon Slams Nigeria’s Weak Continental Showing

Chairman and coach of Robo Queens, Emmanuel Osahon, has voiced frustration over the club’s repeated failure to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League, urging a serious review of Nigeria’s women’s league structure.

Emmanuel Osahon lamented that even dominant teams in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) struggle to replicate their domestic form at continental level, citing structural and preparatory deficiencies.

He described the situation as “shameful,” asking why Nigeria—a nation with abundant women’s football talent—cannot deliver on the African stage. Emmanuel Osahon called specifically on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the NWFL authorities to reassess league formats, invest in club infrastructure, and ensure that the best teams represent Nigeria in continental competitions.

His critique underscores a larger sentiment in Nigerian women’s football: that domestic dominance is not enough unless matched with effective continental competitiveness.
