The Governor Dapo Abiodun pre-season tournament is in its 2nd edition, and matches for the group stage are already in progress. Rivers United will not just be aiming to win the tournament for the first time but also see it as a platform to fine-tune strategies ahead of CAF Confederation’s Cup and the Nigeria Professional Football (NPFL) campaign.
The “Pride of Rivers” are drawn with Gateway FC, Bendel Insurance and Warri Wolves in Group A. All these teams are challenging and they will be amaining to reach the knockout stage.
With no fans in the stadium, it might affect the results of some games but the temper will be the same among the players.
