Iweze told Sports247 after winning a pulsating match at the ongoing 3rd National Para-Games in Abuja that her husband motivates her by buying kit for her and encouraging her in all her outings.

She added that Para-Games 2026 has been a wonderful experience for her and other players from Rivers State, who she showered praises on for doing well in all their matches so far at Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

“It’s a wonderful and fantastic event. The people who sponsored it really want to support and help disabled athletes.

“They’ve really tried, and I say thanks a lot to them. I also thank God for the welfare they are giving us. It’s okay. They are really taking good care of us.

“They are trying their possible best, despite all the challenges that are in the country. They are doing well here, and everything is okay,” Iweze affirmed.

The very amiable player then spoke about the chances of Rivers State winning more medals in para-table tennis and other events, as the days go by, while enthusing that she could get an invitation to the national team after the competition.

“In Rivers State, we have really come a long way in para-table tennis. That’s why we could win seven gold medals as of Monday alone.

“We’ve won silver and bronze medals as well, and we’re in the finals for some other events. It’s been very exciting and I love the sport.

“I just love para-table tennis, and I’m happy that I’m playing it. I just fell in love with it out of interest, and I’m happy that I have many people who are supporting me, especially my husband.

“He’s also playing this sport, and he’s a champion. He’s the one that’s really supporting me and he gives me everything that I need to play in competitions like this.

“I’m hoping that God will help me to get to the point of representing Nigeria soon, by the grace of God. I pray that I will get to higher places, by the grace of God,” Iweze supplicated.
