Rivers Angels sealed a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Naija Ratels on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, securing three crucial points in the ongoing NWFL Premiership 2025/26 season.
The decisive moment came in the 55th minute, when Sharon Onwere produced a composed finish to break the deadlock after sustained pressure from the hosts. Her goal ultimately proved enough in a match defined by intensity, organization, and narrow margins.
Rivers Angels controlled large portions of the game, dictating possession and carving out the better chances. Naija Ratels, however, remained compact and resilient, forcing the home side to work hard for every opening.
The visitors pushed forward in the closing stages but were unable to find a breakthrough, thanks to Rivers Angels’ disciplined defensive display.
The win keeps Rivers Angels firmly on track in the #NWFLPremiership26 campaign after a bye in the opening fixtures, while Naija Ratels will look to bounce back in their next outing as they ended up in a barren draw at home last week to Ibom Angels.
