Team Manager of Nigeria’s junior basketball national teams, Ameh Adeyi, has expressed confidence that the recent rewards and incentives given to D’Tigress will serve as a major boost ahead of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Adeyi stated that the fulfilment of promises made by the federal government will motivate the players to perform even better on the international stage.
“These rewards will spur the team on,” he said.
He noted that recognition and support from the government play a crucial role in boosting players’ morale, especially as they prepare for a major global tournament.
“It shows that their efforts are appreciated,” he added.
According to Adeyi, the players are fully aware of the expectations on them and are determined to repay the faith shown in them with strong performances.
He also expressed belief that the team has the quality and depth to compete with top nations at the World Cup.
“I expect them to give their all,” he said.
Adeyi went further to suggest that D’Tigress could spring surprises against stronger teams, given their experience and winning mentality.
“They can even cause some upsets,” he noted.
With Nigeria already qualified for the World Cup as African champions, Adeyi emphasized that current competitions and preparations are crucial in helping the team build momentum.
He concluded by stating that with the right mindset, preparation, and continued support, D’Tigress can make a significant impact on the global stage.
