Austrian international footballer Junior Adamu Chukwubuike, currently playing for SC Freiburg in the German Bundesliga, received a spiritual anointing from Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka during a homecoming visit to Enugu, Nigeria.
Adamu, who was born in Enugu State before relocating to Austria as a child, visited his hometown during his summer break. During his stay, he attended a service at the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), where Rev. Fr. Mbaka prayed for him publicly, anointing him for “protection, breakthrough, and continued success.”
The 23-year-old forward, who plays for Austria’s senior national team, was seen kneeling in reverence as Fr. Mbaka laid hands on him and offered prophetic blessings. The ceremony drew applause from worshippers and was shared widely on social media.
Junior Adamu rose through Austria’s football system and earned his senior cap in 2022. He joined SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga and is seen as a rising talent in European football.
The visit marked Adamu’s first public return to Nigeria since starting his professional career. While currently committed to Austria at the international level, the symbolic connection to his Nigerian roots has sparked fresh conversation among fans in both countries.
Fr. Mbaka, known for his influence across Southeast Nigeria, described Adamu as “a son of the soil” and called for continued divine favor on his football journey.
Adamu is expected to return to Germany in July for pre-season training with Freiburg ahead of the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign.
