Former Nigerian international Godwin Okpara has expressed confidence in Remo Stars’ readiness to compete on the continental stage, saying the club has matured and now has a chance to showcase its progress.
Speaking on the team’s upcoming CAF Champions League campaign, Okpara praised the club’s steady rise in Nigerian football and commended its world-class infrastructure.

“It’s like when you’re a student—you’re there to learn. Remo Stars have learned a lot, and now it’s time for them to show that they’ve grown,” he said. “They were second, second, third, and now they’re first. That experience will count for something.”
He also noted that the club’s facilities compare favorably with those in Europe, a factor he believes will give the team a competitive edge.
“When you look at the kind of facilities they have in Remo, you’ll see it’s European standard,” he added.
While Okpara stopped short of predicting a CAF title for Remo Stars, he expressed belief that the team will go far.
“I’m not saying they’re going to win the CAF [Champions League], but I see them going much farther this time around.”
Remo Stars recently clinched their first Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, and will be Nigeria’s top representative in Africa’s premier club competition.
