Beacon Power Services (BPS) athlete Rebecca Enilolobo has vowed to return stronger after finishing with a silver medal in the Youth Girls’ 100m at the MTN CHAMPS meet in Calabar.

Despite reaching the podium, the young sprinter admitted she was not entirely satisfied with the result, revealing that her goal had been to secure the gold medal.

“I am not feeling well with the silver medal. I targeted something higher,” Enilolobo said after the race.

The promising athlete, who trains in Lagos, explained that she plans to intensify her preparation once she returns home as she looks ahead to future competitions.

“I will return back to Lagos and work harder for the next step,” she added, emphasizing her determination to improve.

Enilolobo also expressed excitement about representing Nigeria on the continental stage, noting that the opportunity to compete at the African Youth Games is a major motivation in her young career.

“I’m lucky to represent the nation at the African Youth Games and to win a medal too. I’m really excited about the opportunity,” she said.

The young sprinter credited her development to the competitive training environment in Lagos, where she trains alongside several talented athletes.

“My experience in Lagos has helped a lot, especially training with other athletes,” she noted.

She also took time to acknowledge the support of her sponsor Beacon Power Services as well as the guidance of her coach.

“I appreciate my new sponsor and my coach too,” she concluded.

With determination and continued support behind her, Enilolobo will be looking to build on her performance in Calabar as she aims for bigger achievements in upcoming competitions.
