Rasheedat Ajibade: Super Falcons Focused on Themselves, Not Comparing With Super Eagles

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade says her team is focused solely on their own progress as they prepare to face Benin Republic in the second leg of their WAFCON qualifier in Abeokuta.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s clash, Ajibade dismissed any talk of comparisons with the Super Eagles, who recently defeated Benin Republic in their own World Cup campaign.

“We’re not comparing ourselves to anyone,” Ajibade said. “The Super Eagles are doing their job, and we’re doing ours. Our focus is to keep improving and deliver strong performances for Nigeria.”

The Atletico Madrid forward added that the players have remained grounded despite their 2–0 first-leg advantage, stressing that the Falcons still have work to do to complete the tie.

“We’ve done half of the job already, but we know the return leg is crucial,” she said. “We’re ready to finish strong at home.”

Ajibade praised her teammates’ mentality and urged fans to come out in numbers to support the team in Abeokuta, saying their energy always makes a difference.
