Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons’ captain, Rasheedat Ajibade says the biggest target the squad can achieve from two upcoming international friendlies with Cameroon are opportunities of building a solid arsenal towards this year’s African Women Cup of Nations.
Sports247 reports that, with AWCON 2025 set to kick-off on July 5th in Morocco, the Nigerian team has just over a month to prepare for the continental showpiece, and Ajibade believes it’s good that they are starting now.

With that in view, the dashing winger, who is on the verge of leaving Atletico Femenino of Spain in search of the golden fleece elsewhere, stressed that the games against Cameroon this Saturday at Ikenne and Tuesday in Abeokuta will serve great purposes for the Falcons.
Ajibade, who is fondly called ‘Lady With The Blue Hair’ by her fans and associates, retorted: “It’s just a friendly game which will help us to build a team. We already have a squad, but the most important thing is that we need to build a team for the Nations Cup.”
Ajibade, a devout Christian with a Muslim name, went on to reveal that she and her teammates are all determined to make the best of each opportunity they have in the national team’s camp in order to stand a good chance of winning the AWCON trophy on July 26th in Rabat, Morocco.
“We are preparing ahead of the tournament. Every tournament that we go for to represent our nation is a privilege and honour. So, we must be ready to give our best, and our aim is to bring back the trophy,” disclosed Ajibade, who was groomed at FC Robo Queens of Lagos.
