NPFL: Rangers Storm Kano With Optimism Against Pillars

The ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International F.C, are in Kano the ‘Centre of Commerce’ in the country with high optimism of maintaining their fine form that has seen the coach Fidelis Ilechukwu side win five of its last six matches without conceding a goal as they confront former coach, Abdul Maikaba in a match day 25, NPFL 2023/2024 fixture.

Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano will be the venue for the Wednesday, March 13, 2024 highly explosive fixture that will see two of the top three scoring sides in the league come together to fight for the three points at stake with only four points separating the two sides in matches played so far.

Coach Ilechukwu will be counting on the players that have kept the candle burning since the start of the second stanza with a few expected changes to push the ‘Sai Masu Gida’ side back into their defensive shells.

In the reverse fixture that ended 4-1 in favor of the Enugu side at their formerly adopted home ground of Awka City Stadium, with goals coming off the boots of Godwin Obaje, Isaac Saviour and Chukwudi Nwaodu who helped himself with a brace after the Kano Side had taken the lead through Mohammed Yakubu.

Going into the fixture, Rangers occupy the 4th position with 41 points while their host, Kano Pillars are perched on the 6th spot with 37 points with both sides parading a razor-sharp attack that have both scored 31 goals each.
