Rangers Resume For January 13 Confederation Cup Date

Rangers International of Enugu are back in camp and training already, ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup play-off first leg battle against Bantu FC of Lesotho on January 13.

Sports247.ng can report that this much was made known by The Flying Antelopes’ media officer, Norbert Okolie, who also confirmed that the players are determined to win home and away against Bantu.

Okolie stressed that The Coal City club has a strong ambition of going all the way to the final of the competition and then eventually win the cup.

He also appreciated the players for their doggedness in 2018, all of which took them just one step away from the group stage of the second-tier continental competition and urged them to give more efforts in 2019.

The Antelopes’ spokesman, though, said he is happy that the players have promised to take-off from where they stopped in 2018, knowing that any opponent in this stage of the African clubs’ contest cannot be easy.

Okolie disclosed: “We resumed training on Tuesday, after seven days yuletide break and the most aspect of it was that the players were back injury free.

“Our Confederation Cup first leg of the second round against Bantu FC will come up on January 13, in Lesotho and we will approach it with seriousness.

“The players and technical crew were given 24 hours to settle down after the break which ended on December 30, and after that we swear into training because we do not want to underrate any club.

“We are expecting a tough match against the club from Lesotho and that is why we are taking our preparation serious to ensure that we made it to the group stage.”
