Rangers extends NPFL Group A lead to six points

Gbenga Ogunbote-led Enugu Rangers have opened up a six point gap at the top of the NPFL Group A table after they beat Lagos-based claub MFM 1-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.

Seka Pascal scored the winning goal for the Flying Antelopes in the 26th minute following a defence splitting pass by Ibrahim Ajani.

The Ivorian has now scored five goals in his last four appearances for the Flying Antelopes in the league , having struggled to hold down a regular shirt following his move from FC Ifeayin Ubah.

The Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side however couldn’t find the equaliser before the end of the encounter as the home side withstood everything thrown at them and held on for the maximum three points.

The Gbenga Ogunbote’s tutored side are sitting conveniently at the top of the log with 31 points from 14 games and with two games in hand.
