Ramotalahi Kareem Proudly Reflects on WAFU B Golden Boot Triumph: “It’s Just the Beginning for Me and for Nigeria”

Nigeria’s dazzling young forward Ramotalahi Kareem has expressed her pride and excitement after emerging as the Top Scorer at the WAFU B U20 Girls Championship, where she finished the tournament with four goals to her name.

Speaking moments after receiving the Highest Goal Scorer Award, Kareem described the honour as one of the most special moments of her young career — and a reminder of what can be achieved through hard work and belief.

“I’m really happy and grateful for this award,” Kareem said with a bright smile. “It means a lot to me, but I know it’s just the beginning. Every goal I scored came from teamwork — from the passes, the movement, and the confidence my teammates gave me on the pitch.”

The teenage sensation was a standout performer throughout the tournament, combining pace, intelligence, and sharp finishing to terrorize defences across West Africa. Her consistency in front of goal not only helped Team Nigeria dominate their group but also reaffirmed the Falconets’ status as one of the most feared attacking teams in the region.

“Representing Nigeria is always a huge honour,” she added. “Each time I wear the green and white, I play with pride and purpose. My dream is to keep improving and one day play for the Super Falcons. I know there’s still a lot to learn, but this is a good step in that direction.”

Kareem also dedicated her Golden Boot award to her family, teammates, and coaching staff for their unwavering support.

“I couldn’t have done this alone,” she said. “My family, coaches, and teammates all believed in me. This award belongs to all of us.”

With her performances catching attention across the continent, Ramotalahi Kareem is fast emerging as one of Nigeria’s brightest attacking prospects — a young striker with the hunger, composure, and confidence to lead the next generation of women’s football stars.

“I’m motivated to do more,” she concluded. “This is just the beginning — for me, and for Nigerian women’s football.”
