Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed her pride and gratitude after being nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award, describing it as a milestone that reflects years of hard work and dedication.
The Nigerian international, who currently plies her trade with Brighton & Hove Albion Women, was shortlisted among the world’s elite shot-stoppers following her outstanding performances for both club and country over the past year.

In her reaction, Nnadozie said she was humbled to be recognised alongside some of the biggest names in women’s football and congratulated eventual winner Hannah Hampton, praising her quality and consistency.
“I’m truly honoured to be mentioned among the best goalkeepers in the world,” Nnadozie said. “It’s always a blessing when your work is recognised. Congratulations to Hannah Hampton — she deserved it.”
Despite the personal recognition, the Super Falcons star made it clear that her main priority remains team success.
“Awards are good, but for me, football is always about the team,” she added. “My focus is on helping Brighton achieve our goals this season and, of course, continuing to give my best for Nigeria. Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and get better.”
Nnadozie’s nomination marks another high point in a career that continues to soar. The 23-year-old earned global praise during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where her heroic penalty saves and commanding presence helped Nigeria reach the knockout stages.
