The 18-year-old prospect will spend the next few months with Kristiansund, where he is expected to gain valuable playing time under head coach Amund Skiri.
According to the terms of the deal, Meliga will remain with Kristiansund until July 15, after which he will return to Oslo, where Vålerenga are based.
The temporary switch provides the young Nigerian an opportunity to gain more first-team experience and continue his growth in a competitive environment.
For Kristiansund, the addition of Meliga offers further depth and youthful energy as the club looks to strengthen its squad during the season.
Meanwhile, Vålerenga will be monitoring the youngster’s progress closely before welcoming him back to the Norwegian capital later in the year.
