Professional Football in Nigeria does not make Business Sense – Prof. Ken Gadaffi

Professional Football in Nigeria does not make Business Sense, according to Prof. Ken Gadaffi Director of KG Sports Academy. The Nigerian Born who is also the Special Adviser of the National Olympic of Cambodia made this declaration while reacting to the Recomendation of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Owners to the League Management Company ( LMC) to End the 2020 Football Season due to the Covid 19 Pandemic on Football Show Live on Loveworld Plus TV.

“It is quite Pathetic to see that Football Activities in the country has remained under lockdown despite the resumption of football in most other leagues across the world” he remarked.

“Football has returned back in Europe where they have had worst cases than in Nigeria, I am surprised that the Clubs owners are recommending the end of the league, it only goes to show that Football in Nigeria does not make any Business sense, and this is so because out of the 20 NPFL clubs only about 1 or 2 are Privately Owned clubs, Thus if the Government are the ones running the clubs then they have control on making the decision to cancel the league” he retorted.

Prof. Ken Gadaffi who also lamented the Postponement of the National Sports Festival which made him to come to the country only to be lockdown has thus called for the PTF and LMC to Look beyond the COVID Pandemic and allow things to return to Normal.

“Life is gradually returning to Normal across the world and Nigeria should not be left out, the PTF and LMC should allow Football Activities to resume, Just like in other countries where sports activities are gradually returning, the Authoritites should endevour that things are put in place to control the spread of the Disease if at all it still remains, but as far as I am Concerned, COVID 19 is as good as dead and Buried” He Opined.
