President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded the Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, for his dedication, innovation, and visible impact in promoting youth and sports development across Nigeria.
The President gave the commendation during a recent high-level visit to the Presidential Villa, where Hon. Adeboye led a delegation as part of his continued efforts to spotlight Nigerian sporting excellence.
It was during this occasion that President Tinubu expressed deep satisfaction with the SSA’s performance.
“I can see what you are doing—I am happy. You are really doing great,” President Tinubu said. “You have my word: I will keep supporting you because this is one of our mandates—to be there for the youth. Just keep it up. I know what you’re capable of doing, and you have not disappointed me at all.”
These remarks underscore the administration’s strong backing for grassroots sports as a national development priority. Hon. Adeboye, whose office has been instrumental in bridging the gap between talent discovery and high-level recognition, has consistently championed policies and programs that create opportunities for young athletes across the country.
His recent initiatives, including the high-profile recognition tour that culminated in visits to the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty Oba Rilwan Akiolu, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, demonstrate his commitment to linking community-based sports efforts with national leadership and traditional institutions.
Speaking after the meeting with the President, Hon. Adeboye expressed gratitude for the encouragement and pledged to continue driving youth engagement and empowerment through sports.
“Mr. President’s words are a strong validation of our work,” Adeboye said. “They reaffirm our belief that grassroots sports can transform lives, build communities, and uplift the nation. We are just getting started.”
With strong presidential support and a clear development vision, Hon. Adeboye’s office is poised to deepen its impact across Nigeria—ensuring that from schoolyards to stadiums, every young Nigerian has a chance to rise through sports.
