President Samia Rewards Azam FC With TSh 45 Million For CAF Confederation Cup Triumph

Dar es Salaam — The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports and Chief Government Spokesperson, Gerson Msigwa, has presented TSh 45 million to Azam FC as a “Mother’s Goal” reward from the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The gesture came as a mark of appreciation following Azam FC’s emphatic 7–0 victory over KMKM FC of Zanzibar in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie, played at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.

Azam FC had earlier won the first leg 2–0 in Zanzibar, sealing a remarkable 9–0 aggregate victory to advance to the group stage of the continental competition — the first time in the club’s history.

President Samia’s gift symbolizes her continued encouragement and support for Tanzanian sports teams excelling on the international stage. The club’s latest achievement also marks a milestone for Tanzanian football, as Azam FC join the ranks of elite African clubs competing in the CAF Confederation Cup group phase.
