Abakaliki FC have secured their place in the grand finale of the 2025 President Federation Cup after a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Ikorodu City FC in the semi-final clash held on Wednesday at the Bwari Stadium, Abuja.

The loss ends Ikorodu City’s hopes of continental football this season, having narrowly missed out on a CAF Confederation Cup ticket via the Nigeria Premier Football League, where they finished fourth just outside the qualification zone.
With the Federation Cup offering a direct route to continental competition, Ikorodu City’s defeat also closes that alternative path.
For Abakaliki FC, the fairytale run continues.
The ‘Rice City Boys stunned former champions Enyimba FC in the quarterfinals and have now eliminated another strong side to reach their first-ever Federation Cup final. They await the winner of the other semifinal between Rangers International and Kwara United.
