Abdulmalik told Sports247 that he was glad seeing that he was able to run well and eventually cut off three minutes from his previous personal best, which has now encouraged him to run faster.
The soft-spoken spoken runner stated, “I feel great about my performance, because I ran a new personal best. Though I’m still hoping for improvement, I am grateful for what I was able to achieve in this race.
“I really think that I did great. Yes, I did great by my standards. My former personal best was one hour, 23 minutes; but I ran one hour, 20 minutes this time out … which means I improved by three minutes.”
Abdulmalik then revealed that he is already aiming at achieving a faster mark in the coming days, especially as he wants to work harder in order to get better results in the near future.
“I’m still hoping for improvement, and my next target is one hour, seven minutes. I’m already giving it a try.
“I will be patient and give it all the hard work it needs for me to get it. I am sure that I will achieve it soon,” Abdulmalik enthused.
