FC Porto have rejected a loan offer from Spanish club Real Oviedo for Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi, citing the absence of a loan fee as the reason for the refusal.
Zaidu, who has two years remaining on his current contract with the Portuguese giants, is not open to leaving the club without financial compensation, aligning with the club’s stance.

According to the club’s management (SAD), the 26-year-old remains fully committed to FC Porto. They made it clear that any departure would only be considered if it brings either sporting benefit or financial gain.
The Nigerian left-back, who recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff, is currently part of Porto’s pre-season squad under new head coach Francesco Farioli.
Zaidu Sanusi has attracted interest from other clubs, including English Championship side Leeds United, who are reportedly preparing a €2 million bid. However, Porto’s position remains firm—there will be no deal unless the terms are favorable.
Zaidu Sanusi joined FC Porto in 2020 and has made over 80 appearances for the club, winning multiple domestic titles and earning a place with Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
