Plateau State to Host 2023 Nigeria National League’s Yearly Assembly

The 2023 Nigeria National League’s (NNL) Yearly Assembly, originally scheduled for September 7, 2023, in Abuja, will now take place in the City of Jos, Plateau State.

This change in location was necessitated by logistics reasons and was made possible with the gracious approval of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.

The 14th edition of the NNL’s Yearly Assembly is now set to occur on Friday, September 29, 2023, in the picturesque Tin-City of Jos. The assembly will bring together representatives from the 40 NNL teams that will compete in the upcoming 2023/2024 season. Each club will be represented by its president or one designated representative.

Teams participating in the NNL are expected to arrive in Jos on September 28, 2023, in preparation for the assembly. Following the deliberations of the Yearly Assembly, club representatives will depart from Jos on Saturday, September 30, 2023.

Key discussions and decisions during the assembly will include finalizing the kick-off date for the new NNL season, defining the league’s format, and addressing various other matters of importance to the league and its participating clubs.

This shift in location for the NNL’s Yearly Assembly underlines the league’s commitment to transparent and effective governance, ensuring that the voices of all stakeholders are heard, and decisions are made collectively. Plateau State’s gracious hosting of this event reflects its support for the development of football in Nigeria and the NNL’s role in fostering the growth of the sport at the grassroots level.

As the assembly gathers in Jos, it will serve as a platform for constructive dialogue and strategic planning, setting the stage for another exciting season of football in the Nigeria National League.
