Young Nigerian basketball prospect Obinna Ejezie has described his participation at the 10th Annual Basketball Without Borders All-Star Camp in Los Angeles as a defining moment in his growing career.
Speaking on his experience at the prestigious camp, which brings together elite young talents from across the globe, Obinna said representing Nigeria on such a stage was both an honour and a major motivation.

“It’s a great honour,” he said. “All the best players from around the world are here, and just being able to compete at that level is great.”
Obinna, whose father also played the game, did not shy away from his long-term ambitions. Asked if his ultimate goal is to follow in his father’s footsteps by reaching the NBA, the young forward was clear in his response.
“Yes sir. I want to be a great player in the NBA,” he said. “I don’t just want to get there, I want to be really good.”
On what he set out to achieve at the camp, Obinna who won the Defensive MVP explained that his focus was on authenticity rather than overreaching.
“My goal was to show everybody who I am,” he noted. “I’ve put in the work. I didn’t come here to be more than I am, just to show who I am.”
Beyond the drills and competitive games, Obinna said one of his most memorable takeaways came off the court, through cultural exchange with fellow campers.
“Just hanging out with people from different backgrounds, people who speak different languages,” he said. “I’ve never really been around a lot of Europeans, Italians and others from different places, so that was really cool.”
The Basketball Without Borders camp, jointly run by the NBA and FIBA, continues to serve as a global platform for emerging talents, and Julius’ participation underscores Nigeria’s growing footprint in international basketball development.
