Trabzonspor of Turkey striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu has been cited as ‘a very good example for other players to follow,’ after he gave his grassroots coach, Hyginus Okoye, a brand new car, Sports247 reports.
The verdict came from a youth developer and schools football promoter in FESTAC Town, Goldenmouth Chilaka, who took to a popular social media platform to express awe over what he referred to as ‘a rare occurrence’ among players.
Chilaka, who is also the sports director of Anchorage Field Schools (AFS), heaped prayers on Onuachu for his noble gesture, even as he urged other Super Eagles’ players as well as Nigerian footballers of all categories at home and abroad to follow suit.
The amiable football promoter, who is fondly called ‘Anchorage,’ started his response by congratulating Coach Hyginus for the gift, then used him as a point of contact in prayers for similar gestures from other successful players to himself and all gaffers who are hunting for hidden talents at the grassroots.
He posted, “Congratulations, coach. This doesn’t happen often. May God touch my foreign and local club based players to remember the rest of us too. AMEN. We have laboured for these players. Unfortunately, most of them don’t look back to appreciate us like this. God bless Paul Onuachu.”
