Patrick Dorgu’s Injury Ignites Confusion At Manchester United

Officials at Manchester United of England are currently in a state of confusion, following an injury copped by the club’s Nigerian-born winger, Patrick Dorgu, as contrasting expressions have emerged over the likely date of his return.

Sports247 reports that three varying timelines have been stated by various sources within The Red Devils’ framework, with one giving the player ten weeks out, while another says it will be a month but the coach believes it will be sooner.

Ironically, Dorgu copped the injury after scoring a wonder goal in last weekend’s 3-2 win away to English Premier League leaders, Arsenal, thereby turning his happy moment into one of agony, but he appears heading for greater pain.

That could be the case, as one of the verdicts about his recovery timeline indicates that the 21-year-old Nigerian-born Denmark international faces 10 weeks out with a hamstring injury he picked up on Sunday.

A report by UK’s Sun Sports revealed further, “Dorgu had produced a brilliant performance at the Emirates, capping it off by scoring a sensational goal to put his side 2-1 up.

“But as he chased a long ball late on, the flying wing-back felt an issue in his hamstring and was forced off following treatment.

“According to The Athletic, United are still assessing the injury – with 10 weeks an early estimate. However, SunSport understands United have not pencilled in a timescale.

“Interim boss Michael Carrick initially hoped that Dorgu had gone off with cramp, rather than a serious issue. Carrick, 44, said: ‘He obviously came off with a little bit of cramp.

“‘Hopefully, it’s nothing worse. At this stage, it’s hard to tell, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it’s not too bad.’”

Sports247 gathered further that a 10-week lay-off would see Dorgu ruled out of United’s next eight matches, which would be a personal blow to his recent surge at Old Trafford.
