Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, has dedicated the successful Level 2 Sports Performance Analysis and Coaching Development Workshop to the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Patrick Agha Mba.
The gesture, Iloenyosi explained, reflects the Football Association’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry to strengthen football development through collaboration, capacity building and grassroots initiatives.
“Partnership will drive football growth. This workshop is dedicated to the Honourable Commissioner as a demonstration of our readiness to work together in developing football across Anambra State,” Iloenyosi said.
The two-day programme, organised by the Anambra State Football Coaches Association (ANSFOCA) in collaboration with Binary Sports Tech and ANSFA, concluded in Awka after equipping 44 coaches, scouts, match analysts and football development personnel with modern coaching and performance analysis skills.
Participants received practical training in tactical and video analysis, expected goals (xG), match reporting, performance metrics, session planning and spatial analysis, enhancing their knowledge of the modern game.
Iloenyosi said continuous investment in human capacity remains essential to raising coaching standards and producing better footballers in the state.
“Our vision is to create more opportunities for coaches, players and football stakeholders. Developing people is the foundation of sustainable football success,” he added.
The former Super Eagles defender also commended Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for creating a secure environment that has encouraged sporting activities to flourish across Anambra State.
According to him, the improved security situation has made the state an attractive destination for football competitions, coaching programmes and other sporting events.
The workshop, held at the Archbishop Obiefuna Pastoral and Retreat Centre in Awka, featured sessions facilitated by Nigeria Football Coaches Association President Dr. Isah Ladan Bosso, Binary Sports founder Idris Okeke and Lead Coordinator Buhari Yusuf Makusidi.
At the end of the programme, participants received certificates of completion, with organisers describing the initiative as another important milestone in improving coaching standards, strengthening grassroots football and deepening collaboration among key stakeholders in Anambra football.
