Oyo Para-Athlete Wins Two Gold Medals At Canoeing Tournamnet

A 23-year-old para-Nigerian athlete from Oyo State, Olasupo Temitope Hassan won two gold medals at the First African Admiral Porbeni Canoeing Competition held at Jabi Boat Club, Abuja recently.

The tournament involved five African countries, namely Senegal, Tunisia, Ghana, Sao Tome, and Nigeria.

Team Nigeria clinched the first position with 21 medals; 14 gold 6 silver and 1 bronze.

Nigeria defeated Sao Tome which came second while Tunisia secured the third position.

Earlier the para-athlete also won two gold medals at the 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State.

Olasupo Temitope Hassan will participate in the National Trial for the qualifying Olympics taking place in Germany which is scheduled to commence on August 17 this year.
