Owu Ita-Iyalode Emerged Champions of the 2025 Oba Matemilola U-15 Football Competition after defeating Owutedo 3–1 in the final match held at African Church Grammar School, Ita-Iyalode, Abeokuta.
The team received a cash prize of ₦250,000, while Owutedo and Owu Akinale, who came second and third, went home with ₦200,000 and ₦150,000 respectively.

Alayeluwa, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, commended all participants for their dedication to grassroots sports and community development.
The event also marked Kabiyesi’s 61st birthday, which was joyfully celebrated by Owu sons, daughters, and well-wishers.
Owu was popular as a prominent ancestral domain of the Yoruba people, mainly concentrated at Ago-owu in Abeokuta. C Prof. Saka Matemilola is the 14th Olowu of Owu Kingdom in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
