Our Goalkeeper Cost Us The Three Points Against Igamu FC – Akinyelu Olajide Blasts Goalkeeper For Errors

*Says Creative Championship Will Help Develop Our Grassroot Players As Well As Our Individual Clubs

Manager of Gbagada Fc, Akinyelu Olajide has criticized his Goalkeeper for his costly errors against Igamu Fc in the Creative Championship League match week 4, as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Igamu Fc.

Gbagada Fc had led for most of the encounter and were 3-1 up, before two costly blunders from their goalkeeper, forced a 3-3 draw against Igamu Fc.

In an interview with Sports247 after the match, the Manager of Gbagada Fc, Akinyelu Olajide, was quick to criticize his number 1 shot-stopper for the poor errors, admitting that it cost them all three points in the game.

“It is football, and football is cruel. We played so well and didn’t deserve to go back with one point today. But for obvious reasons, I don’t know what happened with my backline. The goalkeeper decided today that we won’t go with all three points. It’s solely on the goalkeeper today. Its goalkeeping error that gave the opponents the two goals that brought them back into the game”, he said

“The officiating was awesome. I have no complaints about the officiating. We drop points Solely because of our backline, which is our goalkeeper. We have no business conceding those two cheap goals. At 3-1 up, 70th minutes, a goalkeeper shouldn’t decide to dribble when there is no pressure, that’s a poor decision making. He went for dribbling, instead of passing the ball wide or clearing the ball and that gave them life back into the game. It was just a matter of time before the third (3rd) goal would come, so that’s just it”, he added

The Coach/Manager also spoke about the Creative League being a competition aimed at developing our Grassroot players and promoting our individual clubs.

“The Creative Championship League will help in the development of our players because they (the players) will play matches week in, week out. We are here to help our individual clubs, as well as aid the development of our players, he concluded.
