Sports247 reports that Osimhen was diagnosed with a fractured arm after colliding with Liverpool defender, Ibrahima Konaté after just 10 minutes of the game at Anfield, which his side went on to lose 4-0 and crashed out of the UCL.
Osimhen ended the day in hospital with a cast on his arm, but soon travelled home to Lagos for some personal matters, following which he confirmed that he will need surgery to correct the defect, which could sideline him for up to six weeks.
He disclosed the update and his expected rehabilitation process, among other personal matters affecting his career, as he spoke at length during a livestream chat with Nigerian social media influencer, Carter Efe.
“I need to have surgery to fix it, because my arm is broken. It will take a maximum of five to six weeks. Six weeks at most, and I will be back to football. Most of the time, it’s four weeks, then two weeks for you to train alone.
“Gradually regain your fitness, and then you join the team,” said the 27-year-old striker, who earlier asked to be left out of the Super Eagles’ roster for their upcoming international friendlies with Iran and Jordan in Turkey.
